Craft Food and Wine Fest 2012

Here is a pic of my booth at the Clarkson craft fair. I think this was before I had set up my sign but for reference, since my sign pic didn't show, the frame came up to the top of the table. I had it set up on the left end. It's a work in progress but I was really happy with it!

DIY whiteboard!

Hello again! I've been wanting to share my latest DIY project for a little while now and so finally here it is! A couple weeks ago I was in the Craft Food and Wine Festival at Clarkson. The show was the biggest I've done so far. Lots of people shopping and lots of amazing crafts! I wanted my booth to be really great so I decided a big sign was in order. I had heard of chalkboard paint but it seemed like a huge undertaking. Instead I decided on a whiteboard. It turned out great! I found a fantastic wooden frame at my local thrift shop for $6. I don't know what it used to hold but I was told it came from a town office redecorating. The frame is nice and sturdy. I bought a sheet of tile board from Lowe's for another $10. They even cut it to the exact size I needed for free! I had to do a tiny bit of filing when I got the piece home but afterwards it fit into the frame perfectly. So much so that I didn't need to glue it at all. That was it! So easy and so cheap! Now I have a great big sign that I can use to help attract buyers and change whenever I want! I love it!
Now that the craft show is over, I am taking a bit of a breather to re-post what I have left and to decide where to go next! Maybe in the meantime I will practice my crocheting.. Wish me luck!

Back to it!!

It has taken me a couple weeks to get my sewing area back to working condition, but at last I am back in business! Last weekend I got back on and ordered more supplies and have started to get them in. New zippers, more clasps, and such CUTE fabric!! I found this fabric at QuiltEssentials on Etsy and I love it! Some of them, like the elephants are a thicker canvas type fabric. I am excited to get started on it. I am just waiting on my clasps and d- rings to come in. In the mean time I have the Olympics to watch (Go USA!) and more organizing to do. I also have a new toy to play with! I Recently purchased a new camera so I can take better pictures for my online shop. Fingers crossed they turn out better. I think it will help that my new camera does more than just zoom! It feels good to get started back up and I have some new ideas I want to try. Exciting! For now, back to watching the Olympics. :)

Ugh, Thursday

This morning when I woke up, for a few glorious moments, I thought it was Saturday. Of course, it wasn't. Which is surprisingly ok! I realized I don't know what I am going to do this weekend and need to get planning. The only item on my agenda is going with my husband to see Dark Knight Rises. Did I mention we are a little nerdy? Ok, well maybe more than a little. Other than that I am free to do whatever I want and now I have time to plan! I am thinking probably yard sales and fabric shopping. My favorites! I am also thinking I want to learn how to screen print... More on that later!

Ok so yay me- I finally figured out I could blog from my phone! Huzzah! So here goes..

Hurray for Summerfest!
This was my 2nd time showing at Potsdam Summerfest and it was great! Hot, but great. Sales weren't quite as good as I had hoped, but that's ok. I got some great feedback and got to talk to some great people. Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

So now that I can actually blog "on the run" I am excited to keep you posted more often!! Yay!
